The 5th grade students presented their annual "Patriot Program" to students and parents the past two days. It was a phenomenal performance and the spirit of patriotism was felt. There were also many students who earned gold, silver, and bronze medals for accomplishing more than 20 items on the patriot award. Congratulations and way to go!

The Iron County School District will host a districtwide Family Literacy Night from 6-8 p.m. on Feb. 12. The event will be held at North Elementary School, 550 W. 200 North, Cedar City.
Families are invited to attend and hear from great speakers and participate in workshops. The evening includes free food, free books for children of all ages, resources for parents and more.

We had an assembly to celebrate student achievement during quarter 2. The students also had a competition to see which class could get the most balls thrown into their teachers bag. The student body had a blast watching their teachers participate for a class win!

Parents and guardians of students in the Iron County School District are invited to a Boundary Open House from 6-8 p.m., Jan. 12, at Canyon View and Cedar Middle Schools.
This is an opportunity for parents/guardians to view the proposed boundaries, ask questions and leave comments for consideration. You can attend anytime between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. Information about the boundary proposal, as well as interactive maps are available at:

We had many fun activities leading up to our winter break. Students enjoyed a choir concert, faculty and staff talent show, a Christmas sing, and even visits by the Grinch and Santa! We would like to wish all of our Fiddlers Elementary students a wonderful holiday.

Happy Veterans Day to our service personnel and thank you for all you do to ensure our freedoms. We had a father of one of our students attend our assembly and play the bagpipes, a veteran spoke to our students, and we sang patriotic songs and recited the Pledge of Allegiance as a school.

Please join us as Detective Bergstrom of the Internet Crimes Against Children task force talks about protecting children from online exploitation. The ICSD parent night takes place at 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 5, in the Cedar High Auditorium. The presentation is primarily geared toward parents, and will cover some sensitive and potentially graphic subject matter related to internet crimes against children and online safety.
Parents should consider a student’s age and maturity level before bringing students.
At the end of the presentation, there will be a drawing for an iPad, Chromebook and speaker.

We had an eventful Red Ribbon Week that ended with our Halloween parade. Students wore red ribbon bracelets and signed a banner pledging to be drug free. There were cute cowboys and cowgirls on Wednesday and all kinds of fun costumes Friday.

The annual 9/11 memorial assembly took place at 9 am on the front lawn. There was patriotic music, a speaker, flag ceremony, and SUU aviation fly over.

Fiddlers Canyon Elementary has had some great events in the week since school started. Monday, August 11th, we had a great turn out for Back to School Night. Monday, August 18th was the annual Back to School Bash hosted by our PTA. There was popcorn, yard games, foam, and food trucks! Thanks to all who have participated and made these events a success!
